Health inequalities in access to dementia medication in young-onset dementia Lead Investigator: Clarissa Giebel Institution : University of Liverpool E-Mail : clarissa.giebel@liverpool.ac.uk Proposal ID : 1264 Proposal Description: The aim of this project is to assess whether people with young-onset dementia experience inequalities in accessing anti-dementia medication, either based on their social status, their ethnicity, or gender, or other socio-economic factors, such as education. For this purpose, we want to consult the rich NACC data set to explore the existence of any health inequalities for this topic. Previous research in the UK has shown that people with dementia from affluent areas are 25 more likely to access anti-dementia drugs than those from more deprived backgrounds. We want to test whether this is similar in YOD in the United States of America.
